Today we will be learning about the Day and Night Cycle.
Daytime is when you can see the sun from where you are on Earth. When this happens it is light outside.
Night time is when the sun is on the other side of the Earth from you. When this happens you are not able to see its light. It's dark outside.
What Causes the day and night cycle? We have the day and night cycle because our Earth is constantly spinning around on its axis. Each full spin Earth makes on its axis equals one whole day. A whole day is 24 hours.
So during that time while Earth is spinning we experience the day and night cycle as different parts of Earth faces the sun and other parts of Earth face away from the sun.
