Development of Monotheism
Palestine(Canaan)~ was the ancient home of the Hebrews. Promised to them by god.
Abraham was the "father" or the first of Hebrews. He moved his family to palestine and promised he and his people would obey god always.
Exodus~ This is the mass departure of a group and in this case, it was the Hebrews. Moses led them out of Egypt and from then on out they were given the ten commandments(the new laws the Hebrews were given.
After Moses died, the Hebrews went back to Palestine and settled down. There they were faced with constant fighting. They organized themselves into twelve groups called tribes and had leaders called judges whenever they were in danger.
In Israel it was hot, the ground was hard, and there was no real source of water. With these difficulties, only one of the twelve tribes survived, and that tribe was called Judah. This tribe led the Hebrews to be called the Jews. Their kingdom was called Israel, and their three kings were Saul, David, and Solomon who was the greatest king of them all.
