  • What if each slave counted for 3/5th of a person when looking at population.
  • Then, a man by the name of Roger Sherman came up with the idea of two branches; one based on population, the other with equal say for all the states.
  • And that brought up the problem of what to do with the slave population . The southern states thought it would be a good thing to keep it in the population count, but the norther states were against it.
  • No they shouldn't!
  • Then, a man by the name of James Wilson Came up with a compromise, that each slave would count as 3/5th of a person.
