This is John and his wife Melanie. They own a huge farm.
Once the Great Depression hit, crop's price dropped immensely and affected John's income.
John remembers times that there wasn't enough food for the four of them to have. He told his wife and kids to eat while he starved.
The depression hit John's family so bad that he couldn't afford to take care of his parents anymore. It was so hard for him to see his parents leave the only place they had ever called home.
John supported Roosevelt because he wanted to establish the New Deal. The AAA and the NYA benefited him.
Once Roosevelt became president and established the New Deal, John and his family's situation became more stable.
