  • She had the yellow fever!
  • Coffee
  • He does not have yellow fever
  • well we are not bringing him with us anymore
  • The mother gets sick with yellow fever. Matilda the daughter is scared that her mother might die. Her mother doesn't want Matilda see her sick. Matilda is sent out of the room.
  • I do not feel so good
  • Matilda and her grandpa called a doctor who believes in draining. This procedures is done by draining blood from the victim. They thought if you drain the bacteria out of their body they will survive, but it would actually make them weaker. The doctor and Matilda's mother thought the grandpa and Matilda should leave town while Eliza takes care of her mother.
  • The guards stops each cart to make sure no one is going into the uninfected country with the fever. Matilda and the grandpa where trying to go to the country, but they where stooped. The grandpa had a little cough so they where thrown out of the carriage in the middle of no where. Eliza made Matilda a food and clothes basket, but the farmer took it.
  • Matilda fainted when she was trying to find food for her grandpa and her. Her grandpa Carried her to a clinic for people with yellow fever. The doctors precribed rest, food, and bathes not draining blood. Matilda survived and soon after her grandpa and her returned back to Philadelphia.
  • While Matilda and her grandpa William where asleep two robbers broke in because they thought the people who used to live there was dead or gone. Matilda woke up and screamed her grandpa came down and shoot one of the people. William, the grandpa got the air knocked out of him. Matilda took a sword and stabbed the other robber and he ran away. The bad thing about the robbery was the grandpa died not that anything was stolen.
  • The next day Matilda had to put William her grandpa on the death cart. She followed the cart to the graveyard where she had a little ceremony. The men burying everybody did not want to do a funeral, but they respectfully sat through it. Matilda burried her grandpa in his pajamas and he had his wifes portrait with him.
