Have you ever felt different? Like you just didn't fit in with the crowd? This is exactly how August (Auggie) Pullman felt in the book Wonder. Auggie was born with facial deformities and was home schooled his whole life. What he wanted most was to be treated normal and have friends.
So Auggie's parents enroll him in a real school. The author does a great job introducing all the characters in the story and making you feel what they are feeling. Auggie is scared about how people are going to react to him, but he is brave.
Auggie encounters mean kids like Julian that bully him, make fun of him, but he also meets Summer and Jack who he feels are great friends. That makes him happy.
Auggie encounters some setbacks through the story, especially on Halloween when the boys are making fun of him.
Will Auggie find the true friends that he desires and fit in with everyone?
This story is definitely a heartwarming and lighthearted movie that makes you feel good at the end! Watch Wonder today and laugh, cry and rejoice for Auggie!
