Nat Turner was born into slavery on October 2, 1800 on a plantation in Southampton County, Virginia His mother is Nancy, but no one knows about his father. He died on November 11, 1831 by hanging. He was hung because of the mass murder during a rebellion he lea.
Nat Turner lead a rebellion of slaves and freed slaves on August 21, 1831 in Southampton Country, Virginia. Also, something that is not common, is that when he was a slave, he was also a minister.
Nat Turner's rebellion gave other slaves hope. He gave them the ability to see that they could escape slavery, and be free men and women. His inspiration drove men and women out of slavery.
