Storyboard Text

  • Several weeks later after Jonas received the memory of war from the Giver Jonas came home to a nasty surprise. Jonas' father said Gabriel must be released to the land of Elsewhere.
  • Wait, why Father, why must he be Released?
  • Jonas, the Nurturers have voted we have decided to release Gabe to Elsewhere.
  • He is not maturing.
  • Jonas went to the Giver that day and asked him what Releasing would do to Gabe and he got a response that would finalize Jonas' opposition against the Community.
  • This is terrible, why does the Community have to do this, why are these such terrible people.
  • Jonas releasing is a terrible art, it means Gabe will die. They don't understand this because they have no emotion.
  • But then the Giver raised Jonas' hopes of making the Community a better place and a way to save Gabe. They planned to return all of the memories to the people.
  • There must be a way to stop this madness.
  • Great idea.
  • Yes there is but it requires sacrifice from you in order to save Gabe and the Community. I believe there is a way to bring memories back into the Community. And that way is by exiting Community territory with the memories.
  • Jonas then took Gabe and began the journey to the end of Community territory, but on the journey Jonas began to doubt the journey himself.
  • Gabe, why do we have to go through all this suffering, why? I know its for everybody at home in the Community but why?
  • Thats it Gabe, that is the sound of a better life for us and those in the Community.
  • Jonas then found hope, for both Gabe, him, and the Community, he found the end of Community territory.
  • Oh a sled too!
  • Oh Christmas Tree, oh Christmas Tree!
