Due to the conflict between the government and the North West Resistance the Canadian Pacific Railway was able to be completed.
The construction of the railway was going no where due to lack of funds, but due to the Metis Resistance the government was able to find a way to increase funds.
The government pushed the necessity of the railway as a means to control the Metis rebels.
The people were urged to fear the Metis and funds for the railway appeared, in hopes that troops could be sent out at a faster rate.
The death of Louis Riel had quite an impact in the development of Canada, and specifically on the Metis people.
The people left behind were forced to make hard decisions and find a way to move on.
