Thank you Ma'am storyboard HS English Project

Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • Conflict
  • Rising Action
  • She was a large woman with a large purse that had everything in it but hammer and nails. It had a long strap and she carried it slung across her shoulder. It was about eleven o'clock at night, and she was walking alone, when a boy ran up behind her and tried to snatch her purse.
  • Climax
  • Mrs. Jones dragged Roger down the sidewalk to her house. While she is dragging Roger he tries to struggle free, but is dragged into Mrs. Jones home.
  • Falling Action
  • Roger is given the choice to run or stay. He looks at the door, then the sink, and back to the door and he decides to stay. Once Mrs. Jones turns Roger loose he goes to the sink and washes his face.
  • Resolution
  • Roger learns that Mrs. Jones has made mistakes in her life too and that if he would have asked her, Mrs. Jones would have given him the money for his blue swede shoes
  • Mrs. Jones gives Roger money for his blue swede shoes and sends him away, telling him to behave and not to steal pocketbooks anymore because "shoes come by devilish like that will burn your feet" which means be honest because doing bad things will only cause more trouble.
  • Roger wishes he could more than "Thank You, Ma'm," but doesn't exactly know how to express his feelings towards Mrs. Jones so he just thanks her and heads on his way.
  • Thank you, Ma'am
