Storyboard Text

  • We are all here, as the minorities to tell you our experience with Confederation.
  • I cannot vote for Confederation or even voice out my opinion! They say since my complexion is dark, I don't have any right to vote. That doesn't even make sense! It's outrageous!! Even though I am darker, that doesn't mean I'm not human. What nonsense!
  • Oh no, why are you so angry?
  • VOTE NOW!
  • How many times do I have to tell you that women are meant to look after the house and look pretty? You cannot be involved in these big matters!
  • I was thinking about placing a vote in favour of Confederation. It sounds like a very good and beneficial plan for us in Canada West, doesn't it?
  • Brother, why aren't we allowed to vote or have any say of what happens here? Didn't our ancestors first welcome the explorers and provide them with necessities? Since Confederation affects us too, I think we should all have a say in the matter!
  • I don't know.. Although we sacrificed our land and many of our people, we still cannot voice our opinion. We have no choice. We are known as the minority; as people who don't deserve basic rights. Even though people know it is wrong and inhumane, it still happens.
  • WE DESERVE EQUAL RIGHTS!
  • WE DESERVE TO VOTE! THIS IS OUR HOME TOO! WE DESERVE TO VOTE! THIS IS OUR HOME TOO!
  • Votes for Confederation Taken Inside *White Men Only*
  • No matter what the colour of our skin is!
  • In conclusion, we (and the rest of us "minorities") feel we have every right to vote!
  • No matter what gender we are!
  • No matter what ethnicity we belong to!
