Come to the Boston Tea Party
The British are coming
On December 16, 1773 Paul Revere became the leader of the Boston Tea Party. The Boston Tea Party was in a club called the sons of liberty. They threw 10,000 pounds of tea into the Boston Harbor.
Paul Revere was chosen to spread the news about the Boston Tea Party.
Paul and his friends went all around telling people the British were coming to the colonies and also to armed themselves.
The officers were chasing Paul but finally they caught him. They made Paul a prisoner for a little while but they let him go because they were in such a hurry they didn't want to be bothered by the prisoners.
When Paul was free he went back to Lexington to seee if John Handcock and Samuel Adams were there. They were but they were about to leave. Until Samuel Adams remembered he left some very important papers he didn't want the British to get. So they went back and grabbed the papers.
In 1810, Paul Revere was 75 years old. he told his 19 grandchildren like to hear about his life. His great grandchildren like to hear about his life more than anyone.
