Hey dad, what was the first Thanksgiving like? Did they eat turkey like we do?
The wampanoag and pilgrims eventually celebrate the military alliance with harvest. There were about 90 indians and 50 pilgrims attending, and they were all men.

let's start with some backstory. To begin, the Wampanoag village was raptured with disease and death prior to Pilgrim settlement. The pilgrims would call this the, "divine clearing of the land"
Not long after settling, a man named squanto taught the pilgrims how to grow food and fish. The pilgrims were then ready to negotiate a peace treaty with Patuxet Indians.
unfortunately, this treaty would not do much to protect the indians from what was to come
pilgrims and wampanoag feast over their harvest in the cleared out land that was once a villiage
Wow! They didn't tell me that at school. But why were indians killed if we made a treaty?
Well, later on when the puritans and other settlers came in, they saw the land as a free for all. Let's just say they were not afraid to use their weapons.
Now that you've had your history lesson, let's get to making that pie!
