• Now that we finished distributing and making the same denominator. Now lets collect LIKE TERMS. Terms that have the same variables in this case. So:
• __________ 16
• = 10w + -48= -6
• =-14w -84 + 24w+36 = -6
• __________ 16
• =-14w+ 24w -84+36 = -6
• _______ 16
• _______ 16
• __________ 16
• __________ 16
• _______ 16
• _______ 16
• _______ 16
• We want to get 10w alone right, so moving the -48 will change the operation to +48!
• Since we want the 10w alone we move the 16 to the other side and now multiply it, like this!
• Yup!
• ______ 16
• = 10w = -6 + 48
• 10w = 42 x 16
• ___ 16
• ___ 16
• =10w = 42
• _____ 16
• ___ 1
• ___ 16
• _____ 16
• Wow this is so simple, so it would be 10w over 16 = 42 over 16?
• Exactly, so the answer would be:
• Any whole number is obviously over 1, that why it's 16 over 1. Almost done! We cross reduce to get this:
• 10w = 42
• w= 42
• w= 21
• ___ 1
• ______
• 10
• ____ 5
• We can reduce this by 2!
• So now you have to divide the two to get "w". But that doesn't work..?
• Wow Ruby I gotta say, I'm impressed. Thanks for everything.
• Anytime Bill. Anytime.
• The next day...
• Bill woke up from what he believed was the best dream ever. He glanced at his phone and it said 8:20AM. He had to hurry before he got late.
• Before Bill even got to say a work, the bullies apologized and decided to learn from him instead of force him to do their work.
• Hey Bill, thanks for doing our work and sorry for being such jerks. Maybe you can hang out with us and explain how to do the math, please?
• Yeah I would love that!
• He's cute...
