Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Sarah. She loved her doll very much, naming the doll "Ann." There was nothing else she loved more than her doll.
Everywhere she went, she brought her doll with her. During car rides, Sarah loved to fasten little Ann in next to her with a seatbelt.
She even brought her doll to school with her. She would hold Ann on her lap and hug the doll during nap time.

Sarah never let go of her precious Ann. At night, she sang lullabies to her doll. "Hush, little baby, don't say a word. Mama's gonna buy you a mockingbird."
One day, she was outside on the playground for recess. She had little Ann in her arms. "Why do you always have that doll?" Billy asked. The other kids stood nearby. Alex asked, "Yeah! Why do you always have it?"
Sarah did not answer. Just then, Joe lunged forward and grabbed the doll! Sarah cried, "No! Give her back!" Joe and his friends laughed.
