Week 1- pages 1-96 of Serafina and the Splintered Heart by Robert Beatty
This storyboard does not have a description.
"'Braeden, it's me!'"
Braeden, Serafina's best friend, is standing up after having a talk with his uncle about Serafina's disappearance. But Serafina does not understand because she is standing right in front of him, screaming at him to see her, but he does not.
Then Braeden stands up but falls over because of the brace on his leg, so Serafina runs to him.
She reaches out to catch him and...
"Am I truely here... Have I been cursed by a spell? Or am I some sort of whispery ghost or haint or spirit?
misses, but that does not make any sense because she could of sworn she got there in time.
She thinks nothing of it and instead picks herself up and reaches and grabs Braeden's arm to pull him up, but when she touches him she realizes she does not feel anything and that is when she starts to wonder, is she just a spirit.
I chose this scene because it introduces the first real conflict of the story where Serafina discovers that she can not interact, be seen, or be heard by the world around her, and thus she needs to learn how to find a way back.
