THEME: Blindness vs. Sight
The meaning of this theme in Episode 5 is that sometimes we miss the big picture going on. We are so absorbed in ourselves or so distracted doing things that we miss what truly matter most. Tiresias, a prophet, tries to help Creon see that his actions will lead to consequences for the Gods. He tells them that if he doesn't stop, his family will die. He calls Tiresias a liar and a fraud, and ignores him. Eventually, both his son, the heir to the throne, and his wife commit suicide, as shown below.
