Dad! I finally got a job! I'm going to be an Instructional Designer at TechCorp!
That's great son, but uh, what the heck is an instructional designer? Do you design, um, erasers and stuff?
They can be thought of as someone who helps others in a work or school environment learn more efficiently by giving them the proper tools and training they need.
Well actually, dad, an instructional designer is key to developing, implementing, and evaluating effective instruction, or in this case, employee training.
So you see, dad, it's less about technical design and more about course design. Keeping people ahead of the game in technology for learning and evaluating how well they completing their tasks and teaching!
If I just nod, I'm sure he'll think I get it.
Yeah, that makes sense to me! Sounds great! How's it pay?
