Storyboard Text

  • It would be spoke to.
  • Looks it not like the king? Mark it, Horatio.
  • Most like. It harrows me with fear and wonder.
  • Oh, father, father, I’ve just had such a scare!
  • From what, in God’s name?
  • My fault is past. But oh, what form of prayer Can serve my turn, “Forgive me my foul murder”?
  • My words fly up, my thoughts remain below. Words without thoughts never to heaven go.
  • I could do it easily now. He’s praying now. And now I’ll do it.
  • The former king of Denmark, old Hamlet, has died. A group of soldiers had a siting of his ghost and tells his son, Prince Hamlet. Hamlet then learns his uncle poisoned his father and took the throne.
  • Ophelia tells Polonius that she has been horrified by the Prince. Hamlet came to her looking "piteous." Polonius diagnoses Hamlet's condition as madness due to his love of Ophelia.
  • Gertrude, do not drink!
  • I will, my lord. I pray you, pardon me
  • It is the poisoned cup. It is too late.
  • Hamlet enters and sees Claudius in prayer. He recognizes his perfect opportunity to kill Claudius, but stops himself. He remembers that Claudius killed King Hamlet without allowing him any opportunity to make amends for his sins, and that King Hamlet now languishes in purgatory awaiting entry to heaven.
  • Ophelia had fallen in the brook while weaving flower garlands; the tree branch she was sitting snapped causing her to tumble into the water. Ophelia's clothing carried her afloat for a time, but eventually she sank to her death.
  • Gertrude swoons. Hamlet sees the Queen fall and anxiously asks, "How does the Queen?" The King assures him that she is faint because of the blood, but Gertrude cries out that the drink has poisoned her.
