  • The Rockin' Life Of Marly
  • Metamorphic Rock
  • Hi, I'm Marly the metamorphic rock. I was formed by time, pressure, and heat.
  • Now the melting inside the Earth is melting me into the molten material, magma.
  • Lava is magma that comes out of Earth.
  • I'm now shooting out of this volcano as lava.
  • I've started to cool and crystallize! Aren't I shiny?
  • Igneous Rock
  • (I'm now an igneous rock!)
  • Weathering is the process that breaks down rocks and other substances.
  • Oh No! Now I'm beginning to weather!
  • Sediment is broken up pieces of rock.
  • SEDIMENT
  • Now I'm spread everywhere. That means that I'm . . .
  • I am get chemically weathered. Chemical weathering is when rock is broken down through chemical changes.
  • I've become so small because I've been weathered by acid rain,
  • Acid rain is rain made by pollution in the atmosphere.
  • I'm getting weathered mechanically, which means that rock (me), is getting physically broken into smaller pieces.
  • This is an example of abrasion because rock (me) is being worn down by other rock. Ouch!
  • !
  • Now I'm being turned in to rock again through the cementating and compaction of these waves.
  • Sedimentary Rock
  • Yay! I'm now whole again thanks to those waves.
  • Sedimentary rock is material dropped on another.
  • TIME!
  • HEAT!
  • PRESSURE!
  • Hooray! I'm my self again. Good ol' Marly the metamorphic rock.
  • THE END
  • For now . . .
