Storyboard Text

  • Ordinary World
  • Daedalus is in the island of Crete, as the inventor and sculptor for King Minos. It is not a very exciting place or job, so he does not want to try to escape.
  • When Daedalus helps Theseus to escape the Labyrinth, after slaying the Minotaur, he "gets into trouble" with King Minos. He imprisons Daedalus and his son, Icarus, in the Labyrinth.
  • The Call to Adventure
  • Thank you!
  • After being trapped in the labyrinth, Daedalus is never reluctant to try to get him and his son freed.
  • Refusal of the Call
  • LET US OUT OF HERE!
  • Daedalus does not have a mentor, as it is only him and Icarus in the Labyrinth. Neither does he receive a 'talisman,' though he uses his inventiveness to create 'wings' for him and his son, to provide them with a means to escape.
  • Meeting the Mentor
  • Crossing the Threshold
  • Being the first mortal to fly across the threshold of the sky, Daedalus must overcome his nervousness and fear of the wings failing. Luckily for them, the wings work and keep them aloft.
  • Tests- Daedalus has to keep a close eye on his son, so his wings do not melt Allies- Icarus, Daedalus' son accompanies him on his journey Enemies- Daedalus' enemy is King Minos
  • Tests, Allies, and Enemies
  • I WILL FIND YOU!
