Chaje Isakovic Adler is the youngest child out of 11. Chaje was raised by religious, Yiddish- speaking Jewish parents. Chaje is Selo-Solotvino. Chaje at age 12 assisted a tailor.
In the 1920s Chaje married Jermie Adler and moved to Liege, Belgium, where they raised 3 daughters and continued to work as a tailor.
When the German conquered Belgium in May 1940. Chaje's family was ordered by Nazis to register. Catholic friends managed to obtain false papers the Adlers and rent them a house in a near by village.
Sunday, March 5, 1944, while her husband and eldest daughter were away,The Gestapo came at the door at 5 a.m.
Chaje tried to insist the children were not hers,hoping they would spare them. The Gestapo arrested them all.
Chaje was deported from the Mechelen internment camp to Auschwitz with her two daughters and a nephew. They were gassed two days later.
