How: The quote makes people question how significant the choices we make are. Why: Summer has to make a difficult choice and the viewers must ask themselves what choice they would make.
How: The teachers are shown as credible because they talk about their influence on the students. Why: If students realize that there is more to life than just surviving, they will have more determination for a better future.
How: The statistic causes the audience to realize what effect relationships have on students. Why: If students had a better relationship with a teacher or adult, they would be less likely to drop out and it would better impact their future.
