  • Once there lived a man named Alonso Quixana, is a middle-aged gentleman from the region of La Mancha in central Spain. He is obsessed in reading many books of chivalry.
  • EXPOSITION
  • He decided to be a knight and protect the people just like what do the brave knights do in the stories he read. Neither his niece nor his housekeeper can stop him from riding his old horse, “Rozinante”, out into the country.
  • CONFLICT
  • He decides to roam the country and to take up his lance and sword to defend the helpless and destroy the wicked as a knight-errant and named himself “Don Quixote de La Mancha”.
  • RISING ACTION
  • Quixote's first sally ends quickly. He insists on having an innkeeper knight him into the chivalric order. Quixote believes that the inn is a castle. In return for Sancho’s services, Don Quixote promises to make Sancho the wealthy governor of an isle.
  • CLIMAX
  • The priest and the barber take Don Quixote home in a cage, and Don Quixote resigns himself to the fact that he is enchanted.
  • FALLING ACTION
