  • When good manners shall lie all in one or two men's hands and they unwashed too, 'tis a foul thing... We cannot be here and there too. Cheerly, boys; be brisk awhile, and the longer liver take all. (Act 1, Scene 5, Lines 3-4 & 13-14)
  • Welcome, gentlemen! ladies that have their toes Unplagued with corns will walk a bout with you... Come, musicians, play. A hall, a hall! give room! and foot it, girls. (Act 1, Scene 5, Lines 15-16 & 24-25)
  • O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright! It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night Like a rich jewel in an Ethiope's ear; Beauty too rich for use, for earth too dear!... Did my heart love till now? forswear it, sight! For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night. (Act 1; Scene 5, Lines 43-46 & 51-52)
  • In this cell, there's the first servant and the second servant. They are complaining about the workload and how the nobles are behaving. And later, one of the servants are called to go outside.
  • This, by his voice, should be a Montague. Fetch me my rapier, boy. What dares the slave Come hither, cover'd with an antic face, To fleer and scorn at our solemnity? Now, by the stock and honour of my kin, To strike him dead, I hold it not a sin. (Act 1, Scene 5, Lines 53-58)
  • Lord Capulet is the main character in this along with Romeo (who's going to be the main point of view for this entire comic). Lord Capulet welcomes the guests and tells them to dance.
  • And, to say truth, Verona brags of him To be a virtuous and well-govern'd youth: He shall be endured: What, goodman boy! I say, he shall: go to; Am I the master here, or you? go to.
  • Act 1, Scene 5, Lines 66-67 & 75-77
  • The two main characters in this part is Romeo and Juliet though Juliet isn't really involved just yet. And in this part, Romeo monologues about Juliet's beauty.
  • The two main characters, at this point, are Romeo and Tybalt. Tybalt notices Romeo staring at Juliet and realizes that he is a Montague. He, then, monologues about killing Romeo
  • Lord Capulet and Tybalt are the main characters in this scene though Romeo is a spectator. Lord Capulet arrives at the scene and realizes that Tybalt is going to try to kill Romeo and tells Tybalt to endure Romeo for he shall stay and that Romeo is a virtuous youth. He does this also because the Prince will get angry and execute the Lords if they start the fight.
  • In this part, Romeo and Juliet are the main characters. Romeo finally meets Juliet and they fall in love at first sight. This is their actual first meeting.
