  • Prioritization is a huge role in patient care that every healthcare representative should understand. The purpose of prioritization is to provide life saving treatments and improve patient outcomes.
  • Medical Surgical 
  • Priority setting can be defined by patient situations. Nurses follow Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs to establish a preferential order for nursing care. 
  • Help! I am having difficulty breathing. 
  • Physiological problems are the highest priority according to Maslow's Hierachy of Needs so you should always assess patients that have airway, breathing, and circulation problems first.
