Storyboard Text

  • WINTER IS THE TRADITIONAL RAINY SEASON IN TANZANIA
  • HOWEVER, CLIMATE CHANGE HAS CAUSED THE RAINY SEASONS TO FLIP, BRINGING DROUGHT AND EXTREME TEMPERATURES TO TANZANIA.
  • THESE CHANGING CONDITIONS ARE CAUSING THE CATTLE, THAT THE MAASAI PEOPLE DEPEND ON FOR THEIR LIVELIHOOD, TO DIE.
  • TANZANIA NATIONAL PARKS
  • BECAUSE OF THE DROUGHT, THE ONLY PLACES WHERE GRASS STILL GROWS IS IN NATIONAL PARKS, WHERE LIVESTOCK ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ENTER.
  • NO LIVESTOCK
  • TANZANIA NATIONAL PARKS
  • SINCE THE MAASAI PEOPLE'S CULTURE SEES CATTLE AS A SOURCE OF INCOME, REPUTATION, AND FOOD, THEY ARE FORCED TO BRING THEIR CATTLE TO GRAZE IN NATIONAL PARKS FOR A COUPLE HOURS AT TIME.
  • NO LIVESTOCK
  • TANZANIA NATIONAL PARKS
  • You can't graze your cattle in the national park!
  • AS A RESULT, TENSIONS BETWEEN THE MAASAI PEOPLE AND PARK GUARDS ARE HIGH.
  • I can't survive without my cattle and there's nowhere else left to graze them!
  • NO LIVESTOCK
