  • Ordinary World
  • My father cannot fight, he is old and has already fought!
  • Call to Adventure
  • One man from every home must fight for Imperial China.
  • Crossing the Threshold
  • I must fight for my father!
  • Mulan was born into one of the most wealthy families in China. She lives with her mother and father in Imperial China. Mulans family was very privileged but always worried about bringing honor to the family. 
  • Test/Allies/Enemies
  • One day Mulans  dad was summoned to fight for Imperial China. She does not believe that he should have to fight because he is old and has already fought for China. She decides to go instead of her father and sneak away in the middle of the night. 
  • Death
  • After Mulan has dressed up to look like a male, to fit into the army. She flees from her town and heads towards the camp. She crosses the threshold now, entering into her new journey with her mentor Mushu, the dragon.
  • Reward
  • Mulan goes through many struggles and trials. She deals with keeping her identity a secret because women were not allowed to fight for China at the time. She must have days of grueling training with all of the men to become the best warrior. She must also fight the Huns and defeat the army.
  • In the final fight against the Huns, Mulan must sacrifice her life in order to protect the Emperor while her accomplice, Shang kills the last Hun. She dies an honorable death in order to protect China. 
  • The army of China has defeated the last Hun and won the war. Mulans parents fall to the ground in awe that their only child is now dead. The Emperor rewards Mulan and her family eternal Honor because of her sacrifice. 
  • Your family deserves eternal honor for your daughters great sacrifice to protect my life.
