Storyboard Text

  • In the opening paragraph, the mysterious and eerie narrator attempts to persuade the reader into believing that he is not psychotic, only sick.
  • "IT'S TRUE! YES, TRUE, i HAVE BEEN ILL, very ill. But why do you say that I have lost control of my mind, why do you say that I am mad? "
  • The narrator expresses his discomforting, nervous feeling as the old man constantly watches over him.
  • The old man is always watching me with his vulture like eye.
  • Every night at midnight, for seven nights, the narrator sneaked into the old man's room and watched him sleep.
  • On the eighth night, the old man heard the narrator come into his room and became terrified, because he could not see who it was.
  • WHO IS THERE?!?! I can't see you, who are you?
  • I will hide you here, under your own house. No one will suspect a thing.
  • The narrator cuts the old man into pieces, and hides his body below the floor boards. Then he replaces the floor boards, so that no one will know.
  • It was me, I confess. Look under the floor boards, you will find the dead old man.
  • Although the three men knew nothing about the dead man that was underneath them, the narrator confessed, to the three men, that he killed the old man.
