Time to leave
I became what I am today the moment I arrived to the United States, on June 29, 2015.
I remember the precise moment that I got on the airplane, ready to start a new life. I was moving from Puerto Rico to the united states.
Knowing I was never gonna see my friends again was like getting punched. But moving was a better path to follow, more opportunities for the future.
It was cold inside the plane. Everything was normal, except I could not sit with my family. To this day, whenever I hear of traveling it takes me back to this day and it makes me nostalgic.
Back in Puerto Rico I did not have as much opportunities as I do here, this was a positive change. I was ready to say goodbye to my friends and my country to have a better future.
That experience made me what I am today: adaptable, smart, but lonely.
