  • Forge
  • Claim
  • Reason #1
  • I am the most influential secondary character because I am with Curzon throughout the entire book
  • Forge is a book that takes place during the war. Curzon is an escaped slave that ended up running into the middle of a battle. He pretended to be a soldier and soon he was enlisted into the army, until Belligham, his old owner, came back and insisted that Curzon was
  • Reason #2
  • Isabel is the most influential secondary character.
  • Counterargument
  • Others may say that I is the most influential secondary character because I take Curzon back into slavery.
  • p. 1-2, "Before me sat a girl, her right cheek scarred by a branding iron, her eyes were swollen with fatigue. 'Twas Isabel, who was my friend." p. 173, "Candlelight caught the rage in her eyes. Reflected off the scar on her cheek. 'Twas Isabel." This proves that Isabel was with Curzon in the beginning of the book, and then back with him again near the end of the book.
  • Conclusion
  • p. 244 "It means 'You are my heart.' I leaned forward, took her hands in mine, and whispered into her ear. 'You have always been my heart Country.' Before I could kiss her, Isabel kissed me." This shows that Curzon has strong feelings for Isabel by saying she is his heart and going to kiss her, and that Isabel has feelings for Curzon, because she kissed him first.
  • Bellingham is not the most influential because he is not throughout the whole book and does not effect Curzon that much, because Curzon doesn't care about Bellingham.
  • p. 278 "First we carried him out to the barn, where we trussed him up good, tying his hands and feet with rope."
  • Overall, Isabel is the most influential secondary character because she is always with Curzon in someway and they both really care about each other.
