There once was a man named Rama, who was married to a beautiful princess named Sita.
They were forced to live in the forest by their stepmother as she wanted her son to be king, but Sita was kidnapped by the demon king Ravana and she left a trail of jewels so that her husband could find her easily.
Prince Rama followed the trail of jewels that led to the forest and he soon came across the monkey king Hanuman. The monkey king agreed to help find princess Sita as he could fly all over the forest to see what was happening.
Monkey king Hanuman found that Princess Sita was being held prisoner on the island of Lanka. They prepared for battle!!!
Prince Rama, Monkey king Hanuman and evil king Ravana all battled for 10 days. This was a very long fight. They won because Prince Rama borrowed a special arrow from the gods and shot Ravana.
Prince Rama rescued Princess Sita and they decided to go home. As it was dark, all the people in the kingdom lit oil lamps (Divas) to light the way and to show that good is better than evil .
