Bye. We will miss you!
Bye guys. I am going down the silk road to get us some other goods. I'll see you in a few months.
Traveling on horseback makes this trip not as bad. No wonder horses affected the way armies fought. They made them faster, more efficient, and helped strike fear into opponents.
I finally reached the capital city of Karakorum! This city had a major impact on the silk road and was a center of trade.
Why Hello? My name is Marco Polo and I have traveled a long way here. I have to say, it is amazing here. The mongol empire gave us a stable environment which lets us flourish in trade.
Hello. I agree. The mongol empire helped trade flourish. Would you care to share stories about your trip.
Well, I traveled here with my father and uncle because of Kublai's request to return when my father visited a few years ago. Since then the emperor has taken great favor of me. We were granted important positions in court and other privileges. I have served as a special envoy, a governor, an official, and even a tax collector. I have been here 17 years and it is time to return to my home. The king wants me to escort a princess to Persia on the way back. That is my story.
That is quite a story. Unfortunately, I must go and return to my home as well. Goodbye.
Farewell. Have a good trip. I will miss you.
