John Brown's Raid On Harper's Ferry

John Brown came up with an idea to try and free slaves. He wanted to free them because he wanted to start a revolt. He believed violence was the only way to end slavery.
I am thinking
John Brown with his sons gathered a group of 21 people planning to invade to attack the Harper Ferry. The raiders had to stay indoors during the daytime, without much to do .
We should probably get more men father.
In October 1859, Brown and a small band of followers seized the arsenal,wanting to give the weapons to escaped slaves and then make an army that end the institution of slavery once and for all. From the start, however, poor planning plagued Brown’s raid.
Though Brown and his men successfully occupied the arsenal, they became paralyzed when slaves did not come to help to them. Within hours, Brown was captured by federal troops and his supporters were either dead or in custody.

People had mixed reactions of John Brown. The North thought he was a saint and a hero. But the South thought him as a terrorist.

Brown was guilty by the state of Virginia for treason, murder, and conspiring with slaves to rebel. He was hanged that December.
