The Most Dangerous Game

The two main characters Whitney and Rainsford are discussing the topic of hunting above their yacht as they pass the mysterious and "evil" island known as "ship-trap". After Whitney tries to explain the evil of this island and departs to the lower deck, Rainsford, sill at the top, hears three gun shots coming from the darkness. As curiosity got the best of him, he leaped on top of the handle too try to see through the darkness and fell over board the yacht leaving him far behind. As hopeless as he felt, he started swimming toward the island and has a battle with the sea. After he reaches the island and has the best sleep of his life, he starts to wander around the island and finds a big mansion with gleaming lights.
Rainsford gets welcomed into the mansion by a tall body gaurd named Ivan and is aquatinted by a general named Zaroff. The general explains to him how he admires him for his work and is an expert hunter like Rainsford was. The general explains how has gotten bored with hunting and needed to try something new. He explained to Rainsford about the new game that he created and explains to him how he hunts humans.
General Zaroff shows him to his room and asks Rainsford to go hunting with him and when he refuses he tells him that he could hunt or fell Ivans wrath. Rains ford is forced to go hunting with General Zaroff and is tested to the greatest extent.
To win the game, Rains ford has to stay in the wilderness for three days and stay away and escape from the general. He tries to outwit the general by setting traps and setting tracks. Startled by how quickly he was found by Zaroff, he ran off and set traps meant to kill him.
Zaroff starting to feel the treat of defeat brings ivan and the hounds to try and stop rains ford. On a mission to stay alive, Rainsford attacks Zaroff and kills him leaving him to be fed to the hounds.
Rainsford goes back to the house and there he has the best sleep of his life, in the best bed.
