Fahrenheit 451 Storyboard
This storyboard does not have a description.
The citizens live under harsh control of the government.
The earpiece said "Everyone in every house in every street open a front or rear door or look from the windows."
The government's intentions were originally good.
"If the Government is inefficient, top heavy, and tax mad, better it be all those thanthat people worry over it."
The main character questions the good in the society.
"Technology, mass exploitation, and minority pressure carried the trick, thank God. Today, thanks to them, you can stay happy all the time, you are allowed to read comics, the good oldconfessions, or trade journals."
But what if we aren't really happy? What if everyone is faking their happiness?
The government controls much of what the citizens do. Bradbury created this element by making the government embark on total conformity. They were encouraged to think that everything the government did was right.
The government originally wanted all thinking and reading to go away in fear of an individual going against the government to avoid conflict, but this made everyone too reliant on the government and there was not much individuality in the society.
After Montag met Clarisse, he realized that he wasn't happy and that emotion was missing from the society. He connected this to the fact that there was no room for thinking in the society, and realizes that the society is emotionless and not happy.
