Storyboard Text

  • Father!  I want to marry the man I love.  Not a senator or patrician, but a man who will care for me, and not my families money!
  • My sweet daughter.  You must not only follow the rules his country, but of your household.  I will pick your husband who benefits this family the best.  I am disapointed.
  • That is crazy!  Your family will banish you and you will be left with nothing but a poor man.
  • I am tired of the way I am treated.  My brothers and father get all of the credit. I am running away.
  • I am done with being treated like this.  I am leaving tonight at dark.
  • Basil, a wealthy Senator in the Roman Empire, about to marry off his young daughter, Lilis.
  • My daughter is gone! She has disobeyed me and the law.  I should have never let here have the freedom I granted her!
  • Lilis talks to her friend about running away from her family.
  • I am free and happy.  I am away from my controlling family and I am free to live as I please. I hope I am not caught by the law.
  • Lilis leaving her family in the middle of the night.
  • Lilis will pay for her betrayal to her family.  I will find her and the consquences will be strong.
  • Basil, Lilis's dad, angry about here running away.
  • In ancient Rome, it was a law for women to have a disciplinary figure. (A husband or father figures at all times)
  • If found, Lilis will face serious punishment for going against the rules because of the extreme women laws that took place during this time.
