Storyboard Text

  • You look like women, but your beards keep me from believing that you really are.
  • So foul and fair a day I have not seen.
  • Hail Macbeth, Thane of Glamis!
  • Hail Macbeth, Thane of Cawdor!
  • Hail Macbeth, king hereafter!
  • Speak, if you can. What kind of creatures are you?
  • Lesser than Macbeth and greater.
  • Not so happy, yet much happier.
  • Thou shalt get kings, though thou be none. So all hail, Macbeth&Banquo!
  • To me you speak not.
  • Macbeth and Banquo show up from the battlefield, then Banquo notices the witches.
  • It can't be! The prophecy is coming true.
  • The king was happy to hear of your success, Macbeth. He told me to call you the thane of Cawdor. So hail, thane of Cawdor!
  • Macbeth tells them to speak, and they hail Macbeth as Thane of Glamis, Thane of Cawdor, and future King.
  • New honors come upon him, like new clothes. They don’t fit until you break them in over time.
  • My thought, whose murder yet is but fantastical, shakes so my single state of man that function is smothered in surmise, and nothing is but what is not.
  • Banquo asks if the witches will look into his future too. They tell him his future in riddle.
  • Macbeth Act 1, Scene 3
  • They witches disappear and Ross&Angus, two noblemen sent by the King, interrupt their thoughts. Ross tells Macbeth of the good news.
  • Macbeth is very shaken by the news that the noblemen shared. He starts imagining horrible, evil acts that disturb him profoundly.
