Exposition- Romeo's Love
Conflict- The Feud Between the Capulet and Montague Families
Rising Action- Romeo Meets Juliet
Romeo is desperately in love with Rosaline, but cannot be with her so his cousin, Benvolio, tries to help him get over her.
Climax- The Death of Mercutio and Tybalt
For years the Montague and Capulet families have been fighting which leads to the prince telling them if they fight any more they will lose their lives.
Falling Action- Paris Tries to Marry Juliet
To try and help him get over his feelings for Rosaline, Romeo's friends, Benvolio and Mercutio, take him to a ball where he meets and falls in love with Juliet.
Resolution- The Prince's Punishment
After Romeo marries Juliet he and his friends run into Juliet's cousin Tybalt. Tybalt fights Mercutio and kills him when Romeo tries to break them up. Romeo then kills Tybalt in revenge for his friend.
Because Romeo killed Tybalt he was exiled. Juliet became very depressed, so her Father decided that she would get married to his friend, Paris. Since she was married to Romeo already she faked her death so that he could take her way with him.
Romeo hears that Juliet had died and, not knowing that she was faking, killed himself with a poison. Juliet awoke, saw Romeo dead and killed herself with a knife. The Prince finds out about this and punishes both families for their deaths since it was their fighting that led to this.
