  • Invasion of Poland
  • Blitzkrieg
  • Pearl Harbor
  • Germany begins their invasion of Poland. The first attack in Europe. France and Great Britain begin mobilizing troops shortly after.
  • D-Day
  • Meaning "Lightning War", Blitzkrieg attacks consisted of quick series of strikes on Western European Countries including the Netherlands, Belgium, and Northern France
  • Germany Surrenders
  • On the morning of December 7th, 1941, a naval base at Pearl Harbor was attacked by Japanese air forces
  • The Fat Man and Little Boy
  • On June 6th, 1944, on Normandy Beach, over 160,000 allied forces worked together in order to rid the area of German forces. There were nearly 19,000 casualities in total
  • On May 7th, 1945, Germany officially declares their surrender of World War II to the Allies. Hitler commits suicide a few days prior upon realization that Germany will ultimately lose.
  • Upon Germany's surrender, Japan was the remaining Axis power the Allies faced. The United States then proceeded to drop two nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, ultimately forcing Japans surrender.
