  • There was farm land for everyone since it was spacious, and the skies were very blue and clear.
  • Geographic Impact (Overlay)
  • Families worked hard in their farms to help survive and not starve. 
  • Social Impact (Overlay)
  • Men, women, and even children worked in factories that had no light except the sunshine. They were all working for long amounts of time and with little pay. 
  • Economic Impact (Overlay)
  • WE WANT HIGHER PAY!
  • Instead of clear plains and clear skies, the buildings took up that space and smoke filled the air, making it dark.
  • The farmers  took days to separate seeds from the cotton, but with new inventions like the cotton gin, the task was done in hours. 
  • Workers responded to the bad living conditions and poor pay by organizing strikes and protests.
