  • The Federalist Papers is a collection of 85 articles and essays promoting the ratification of the United States Constitution. Anti-Federalist Papers is the collective name given to works written by the Founding Fathers who were concerned with the ratification of the Constitution.

  • The Constitutional Convention was held in 1787, the Constitution was ratified and came into effect in 1789 and has been the basis for the U.S. government since.
  • The Bill of Rights is the name for the first ten amendments. In 1789 12 amenments were proposed and in 1791 Virginia becamoe the 10th of the 14 states to approve 10 of the amendments, giving the Bill of Right a 2/3 majority vote.
