  • RISING ACTION
  • Danny and Reuven lived five blocks away from one another their whole life, but never met until they were fifteen years old. Despite the strong bond the two develop they still differ in religious views which may prove to be a problem.
  •
  • So how did you like the Gematria Reuven?
  • At the baseball game, which ended up being more of a war, Danny Saunders has a unique hit that always goes straight towards the pitcher. Danny hit the ball hard and fast right at Reuven's eye. This is an external conflict because Reuven's eye is badly hurt.
  • CLIMAX
  • You may no longer talk to Reuven Malter. We don't associate with pro-Zionists!!!
  •
  •    Danny visits Reuven in the hospital and after many unsuccessful attempts the two boys work it out and realize that they enjoy one another company.
  • After Danny and Reuven sit through Reb Saunders Sabbath and at the end Reb asks his son if there were any problems as a way to test his knowledge. Then he asks Reuven the same question, just as he did to his own son. This foreshadows that soon Reb will consider Reuven as being part of the family.
  • Almost all of it was really good, except for...
  • After David Malter gives a public speech about his pro-Zionist beliefs, Reb Saunders tells Danny he may no longer associate with any of the Maters. This is a moment of characterization for Reb because it shows how much faith means to him.
  • Did you find any problems in the Gematria Reuven?
