Storyboard Text

  • Lately we have been talking about something called the 14th Amendment in history class.
  • I'm just don't get it!
  • That's okay because I do!
  • I'm starting to get it. I have a question though...
  • Well...What's your question?
  • It affects us by making us citizens because we were born here in the US and it makes sure that nothing is denied to us because of our background.
  • Oh! I get it! Thank you!
  • Well...What is it?
  • You said it yourself, it's the 14th Amendment. It's like a law but has stronger legal power than regular laws passed by Congress.
  • What does the 14th Amendment do? How does it affect us?
  • The 14th Amendment gives citizenship to any person born or naturalized in the USA so the states and government can't deny you anything like protection etc.
  • Who knew the 14th Amendment was so easy?
  • I know!
  • We better hurry or we'll be late to our history class!
