The Enlightenment differed from the age of faith ,a period in the Middle Ages and after when most europeans placed their faith in religions
John Locke thought that the power of a government to rule has to come from a consent of the government. He also took comfort in Englands Glorious Revolution.
Montesquieu wonted a complete separation of power to maintain balance in government.He also thought that the comcepts of limited government did not start with him he just made them popular.
Voltiare yelled the idea of freedom of speech .He also had a famous speech "I disapprove of what you say but will defend to the death your right to say it.
All 4 of these men had ideas about the world but the government did not wont anything to do with it well that is all i have about the Enlightenment
