  • This is the Athenian commander, Miltiades and his army.
  • Move your legs, men! We need to beat Persia!
  • The Persian commanders, Datis and Artaphernes and their army.
  • Come on men, move on out and let's get to Athens!
  • Militades waiting in the hills
  • Shhhhh, we need to be quiet.........
  • One day, two city states: Persia and Athens got into a war with each other. The Athens commander was Miltiades and the Persians commanders were Datis and Artaphernes.
  • The Athenians attacking the Persians.
  • WE AREN'T READY FOR THIS!!!!!!
  • Persia was sailing to the Bay of Marathon while Athens was marching to the Bay of Marathon while staying in the hills to stay hidden from the Persians.
  • The Athenians attacking The Persians for the second time.
  • Oh no!!!!!!
  • Athens was waiting in the hills for Persia to come, but instead of attacking Persia, they stayed in the hills and waited for the right time to attack for 3 days.
  • Pheidippides running to Athens.
  • Victory!!!!!!!!
  • When the Persians were packing there cavalry, the Athenians attacked on the Bay of Marathon. They fought the men who were not on the ship and when they were done the Athenians started heading to Athens to stop the rest of the Persians
  • ATTACK!!!!!!!!!!
  • When Athenians got to the city of Athens, they were ready to fight the Persians to defend their city. The Athenians were victorious when the battle was fought. The Athenians didn't know that Persia wanted to attack them because they wanted wealth and gaining land.
  • For Athens!!!!!!
  • Phedippides was a famous runner that was sent to Sparta to get more men to fight Persia, but Sparta refused. Then he went back to Marathon and was sent to go to Athens to say that Athens won the war. That is what we found unique about the battle of Marathon.
