For years the House of York (the white roses) and the House of Lancaster (the red roses) have been arguing over who should be the ruler of England.
Henry Tudor and his army of 5000 men marched to Milford Haven in Wales to be greeted by Richard III who had an army double the size of his. Therefore, things were not looking good for the Lancastrians.
In the midst of Richards army, Lord Stanley was there. Now, he didn't care whose side he was on he just wanted to protect himself and fight for the winning side. So, when Richard III started to lose he started fighting on Henry Tudors side of the battle.
The Battle of Bosworth had started and all of a sudden William Stanley started to attack Richard although he seemed to be on the Yorkers side but now he was working for Henry. Lord Stanley murdered William and the battle only lasted a total of 2 hours.
In a bush Richard III crown had rolled off him when he was slain, Lord Stanley picked it up and placed it on Henry VII head and he was now king of England.
He ruled as king of England up until 21st of April 1509 when someone else took over the crown. Now in modern days, the House of Lancaster and the House of York are unified to one house.
