Storyboard Text

  • King Acrisius is given an oracle that his grandson, Perseus would kill him. He decides to cast out his daughter, Danae and his grandson, Perseus, to sea in a chest.
  • Perseus and his mother, Danae, are saved by a fisherman named Dictys. Dictys' brother, Polydectes falls for Danae and wishes to marry her.
  • Polydectes notes that he would appreciate the head of Medusa as a wedding gift. Perseus offered to pursue the head.
  • Perseus thankfully has assistance from the gods. Hermes gives him a sword whereas Athena gives him a shield.
  • Upon his journey home from slaying Medusa and acquiring her head, Perseus sees Andromeda sitting on a rock in Ethiopia. He instant falls in love and marries her.
  • Danae refuses to marry Polydectes. Rather than marriage, Polydectes meets death after the head of Medusa turns him into stone. King Acrisius also dies, in Argos, when Perseus accidentally throws a discus, hitting him in the head.
