Beliefs About Jesus
The Soul and Salvation
The early church collected the writings of the apostles and other church leaders. Together the Hebrew scriptures and the New Testament. So the Gospels do not all describe the same events in exactly the same way.
Following Jesus' Teachingsm
To the early Christian the resurrection proved that Jesus was God as well as a man and that everything Jesus had said was true. They also believe that his death was no accident. Instead they believed that Jesus took the punishment for the wrong things they had done.
Two other key beliefs in Christianity concern the soul and its salvation from sin. According to Christian belief every person does wrong things that hurt other people that did not do anything bad. Christians also believed that when they die their souls will live on in the presence of God.
Christians believed that they should lead their lives based on the teachings of Jesus concern ethics or issues of right or wrong and of how people been treat. The most important of those teachings Jesus said is to love god and love one another.
Like Jews believed in one god. They believed that god the father created the Universe. Althogh the spirit of god is mentioned in the Torah the Jews did not consider the spirit a seperate person from the father they considered the spirit as a unique part of god.
