Many Children gave up their education to provide for their families. Many families lived in extreme poverty during the Industrial Revolution, therefore people took any paying job available. However, this often meant that their children had to work.
It was not until 1886 that the American Federation of Labor (AFL) was established. This organization put restrictions on age, hours, conditions, wages, and other laws related to child labor.
The Industrial Revolution and its impact on labor laws have led to the development of technology and businesses around us as we know it today.
